05 Apr 08 Rilasciati Compiz 0.7.4 e Skype 2.0.0.68 per Linux

Devo dire che siamo in un periodo molto attivo per quanto riguarda il software libero in particolare quello per Linux. Oggi voglio segnalare a tutti l’aggiornamento di due software importanti e diffusissimi su linux. Sto parlando di Compiz e Skype. Infatti oggi sono stati rilasciati Compiz 0.7.4 e Skype 2.0.0.68. Skype ha introdotto principalmente una ma importante funzione il suporto uPnP invece Compiz passando dalla versione 0.7.2 alla versione 0.7.4 ha inserito parecchie cosette e molte correzioni di bug.

Cosa c’è di nuovo in Compiz Fusion 0.7.4?

• Configurable handling of overlapping output devices;
• Enhanced focus stealing prevention with configurable amount of focus stealing prevention;
• Added configurable, optional delay for edge actions to prevent accidential invocation;
• Generalized vertex system to improve plugin compatibility;
• Optimized gaussian blur shaders to support more hardware;
• Improved unredirection of fullscreen windows;
• Several bugfixes;
• Translation updates.

Cosa c’è di nuovo in Skype 2.0.0.68?

• Aggiunto il supporto a uPnP
• Fixed crash per coloro che aggiornavano dalla versione 1.3 e che avevano l’autologin attivo
• Fixed crash che si verificavano quando si aggiungevano utenti che avevano l’auto-seeding (auto inoltro/invio) del video abilitato per le videoconferenze

Inoltre troviamo nel changelog ufficiale (Known issues in Skype 2.0.0.68) :
• 64-bit users may need to upgrade their gspca or uvc drivers if their webcam is not being detected by Skype.
• uvc users should upgrade to revision 166 or later of this driver if they are having issues with Skype.
• Non-accelerated X11 output currently doesn’t scale video output. This means that in full-screen, the video will be smaller than the available screen size. And similarly, in video preview, you will only see a cropped section of the actual video window.
• Contact Groups are currently not yet implemented.
• fglrx (ATi graphics) users should be running 8.40.x or later drivers

   le parole “software libero” e “skype” non vanno molto d’accordo.
