18 ott 08 Prima Alpha di Fennec ossia Firefox Mobile
E’ finalmente disponibile la prima Alpha della versione mobile di Firefox (fennec), il celebre browser opensource.
La versione mobile è disponibile già da subito per il download e il test sia sull’internet tablet nokia come n810 che per Desktop pc sia con sistema operativo Linux, Mac e Windows.
La prima alpha release è disponibile per la piattaforma OS2008 (”Maemo”) sistema operativo base del Nokia N810 Internet Tablets. Se volete installarlo e testarlo ecco qui il link dell’installer install Fennec.
Se non avete un nokia n810 potete benissimo scaricarlo e testarlo sul vostro pc , questi sono i link disponibili per il download della versione alpha:

27 feb 08 Bluetooth PAN su maemo
Finalmente anche su Maemo è possibile attivare e utilizzare nativamente il Bluetooth PAN per interagire con gli smartphone windows mobile. Il Plugin da utilizzare è maemo-pan add-on (che è compatibile per ora solo con OS2008). E con pochi passi spiega Martin Grimme è possibile utilizzarlo :
- Go to the system preferences and add your phone in the phone settings. Do not enter the wizard for configuring the dialup settings. PAN does not use them.
- Start internet sharing on your phone. It depends on your phone how and where to do this. On Windows Mobile 5, open the Start menu and select “internet connection sharing” from there.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your internet tablet. Now open the connection dialog and you will see that there is a new connection called “Bluetooth-PAN”. Select it and you will be connected to the internet via PAN.
- When you’re finished, just close the connection the usual way. Wasn’t this easy?

26 feb 08 Maemo Eclipse Integration v0.9 (Beta)
Maemo ha annunciato con grande soddisfazione di aver rilasciato la prima beta release dei plugin di maemo per eclipse. Un altro passo in avanti nell’integrazione di maemo e della sua piattaforma nel noto IDE di sviluppo openSource. Questa release è stata rilasciata dice maemo per consentire alla community di testare il software creato a avere dei consigli e delle correzioni da parte degli utenti prima di rilasciare la versione finale 1.0

E’ stata rilasciata la nuova versione di Maemo SDK VMware Image rispetto alla versione 0.4 ci sono parecchie modifiche

* Increased virtual disk size, by popular demand.
